Accommodation tips. Val Gardena, Dolomites, Italy

1. Where to stay and how to reach the camp

On the first day, we will meet in "Plan de Gralba", around 15 minutes by bus from central Selva di Val Gardena. We may adjust the meeting point on subsequent days and will let you know in advance.

You can stay in different villages:
Selva di Val Gardena
Santa Cristina
Ortisei

Look for accommodation within walking distance of these bus routes:
  • 352: Ortisei → Santa Cristina → Selva → Plan de Gralba. Morning services ran approximately every 20 minutes
  • 354: Santa Cristina → Selva → Plan de Gralba. Services ran approximately every 50 minutes in the morning and hourly in the afternoon, with a midday break.
Check the updated schedule for your dates before booking.

Ask your accommodation provider whether they include the Val Gardena Guest Pass for free bus travel.

2. Where to look for accommodation
You can search for hotels and apartments on:
Compare prices and booking conditions on the platform and the property’s own website.
If a property does not show availability for your dates, contact it directly to ask about availability and minimum stay requirements. Some properties only accept bookings for a minimum number of nights.

3. Which dates to book
We recommend arriving the day before the camp starts, so you have time to check in and prepare for the sessions.
If you plan to leave immediately after the final day, check the session finish time with us before booking your return journey and accommodation.

4. What to check before booking
Accommodation in Val Gardena is subject to a tourist tax charged per person, 2-4 euro per night.
When booking an apartment, also check whether there is a separate final cleaning fee.
Before paying, check:
  • Minimum stay: whether you can book for the number of nights you need.
  • Cancellation conditions: the free cancellation deadline and deposit refund terms. Until we confirm that the camp will go ahead, we recommend choosing accommodation with free cancellation.
  • Walking distance to the bus stop: how long the walk takes and whether it involves steep uphill or downhill sections.
  • Bus connections: whether there is a suitable morning service to the meeting point and a return service after the sessions.
  • Val Gardena Guest Pass: whether your accommodation provides it.
  • Equipment storage: whether there is snowboard storage and somewhere to dry your boots.
  • Meals: whether breakfast is included and whether there is a kitchen if you plan to cook.
  • Parking: whether it is available and included in the price if you are driving.
  • Check-in times: whether late check-in is possible if you are arriving in the evening.

5. Sharing accommodation
If you would like to share an apartment or room with another camp participant, let us know.
If other participants are also interested, we can put you in touch with each other with your permission. You will arrange the accommodation, booking and payment split directly between yourselves.

6. Help with checking the location
Before booking, feel free to send us a link to the accommodation you are considering. We can help you check whether the location is convenient for getting to the camp meeting point.
